About TransVida Health

TransVida Health is a specialty medical transportation company serving patients across Puerto Rico. We move people to the care that keeps them alive -- dialysis, oncology infusion, post-surgical follow-up -- on schedules that do not forgive lateness.

We are early, deliberately so. The operating model, the fleet strategy and the technology are being built now, and the executives who join at this stage will shape them rather than inherit them.

Role mission

The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for building and scaling TransVida Health's day-to-day transportation operations, including fleet utilization, staffing, dispatch, service reliability, safety, vendor coordination, performance management and expansion into additional markets.

The COO will work directly with the Founder/CEO and will be expected to convert TransVida's strategy into a repeatable operating system capable of scaling from an initial controlled launch into a multi-market specialty medical transportation organization.

What the work looks like

  • Own daily service delivery -- dispatch, crew coverage, on-time performance and safety.
  • Build the staffing and scheduling model that supports growth without degrading reliability.
  • Manage fleet readiness, maintenance cycles and vehicle utilization.
  • Coordinate subcontracted providers and hold them to TransVida's standards.
  • Establish the operating metrics leadership reviews, and the cadence for reviewing them.
  • Prepare and execute entry into additional markets.

Expected outcomes

First 90 days
Diagnose the current operation, establish daily operating metrics and stabilize service reliability.
Six months
A documented, repeatable operating system: staffing, dispatch, escalation and performance management.
Twelve months
Demonstrated readiness to open an additional market without degrading service in the first.

What we're looking for

  • Senior operating leadership of a service business with vehicles, crews and schedules.
  • Evidence of building an operation into a system, not just running one.
  • Comfort in an early-stage environment with limited resources and overlapping responsibilities.
  • Direct experience managing frontline employees at scale.

Healthcare, NEMT, logistics or transportation experience is valuable but not required if the operating record is strong. Spanish-language ability is an advantage in Puerto Rico.

How the process works

This is a structured executive selection process, not a résumé screen. It runs in three stages, and TransVida leadership decides who moves between them.

  • Stage 1 — Application & executive assessment. Your background, then seven written questions: five asked of every executive, and two written for this role.
  • Stage 2 — Scenario assessment. By invitation. Real TransVida operating situations, with more context about the company, and no multiple choice.
  • Stage 3 — Finalist assessment. By invitation, following a confidentiality acknowledgment. A deeper briefing on the business, and your candid critique of it.

We are not looking for candidates who agree with us. We are looking for executives who can identify what we have wrong.
